The Professional Fighters League may not have put on the most thrilling show this past Friday, but it did determine finalists for three of its more interesting weight categories. The 2025 PFL World Tournament 6: Semifinals featured a growingly common brute force submission, a Brazilian who came out of nowhere to punch his ticket to greatness and a man who wears a scouter but does not match it with an appropriate nickname.
Welcome to the Rankings: Winner of his last 12, Rabadanov’s finish rate has only recently surpassed 50%. The Dagestan native surpassed that midpoint percentage courtesy of four straight knockouts.
Pastor of Muppets: Current—or final—Bellator MMA women’s flyweight champ Liz Carmouche handled Elora Dana to get to the finals in her weight class. Despite decisions accounting for a third of her wins, Carmouche has earned stoppages in seven of her last nine victories.
Wait, Mansour Could Fight: Keeping his spotless record intact with a decision over Mansour Barnaoui, Archie Colgan advanced to a perfect 12-0. The fighter known as “King” can attribute half of his wins to the hands of the judges, although each of his last five went the distance.
From Nowhere to Right There: The dark horse at 135 pounds, Marcirley Alves surpassed Jake Hadley after three rounds to sit one win away from a $500,000 check. The Chute Boxe Joao Emilio fighter saw his stoppage rate dwindle beneath 75% to 71% because of the 15-minute affair.
Even Tried an Axe Kick: Alfie Davis got one over on Brent Primus to get to the finals at 155 pounds. “The Axe Man” went the distance, and he celebrates one finish across his last nine triumphs.
Reading His Scouter: Courtesy of him stepping in as a late replacement, Justin Wetzell only needed two wins to get to the finals in his weight category of bantamweight. Getting past Mando Gutierrez, should he beat Alves, he will have won the 2025 tourney in just three fights. Most need four-plus appearances to get there.
Bishop Takes Pawn: Jena Bishop reached the second round before she put Ekaterina Shakalova away with a rear-naked choke. It marked the first time in her career that the 39-year-old finished a fight later than the first round.
Tiger Uppercutted: Magomed “Tiger” Magomedov started his career at 18-1, including a victory over Petr Yan. Squeaking past Sarvarjon Khamidov, the commonly-named Russian has alternated wins and losses in his last seven outings.
No Relation to the Character Actor: Strangling Antonio Caruso with an early triangle choke, Vinicius Sacchelli Cenci stamped his place as the 2025 lightweight alternate. The Brazilian boosted his finish rate to 91% with his win inside the distance.
Not from Dublin: Darragh Kelly advanced to clean record of 8-0 by tapping out Mike Hamel. The Irishman has notched three-quarters of his pro victories by stoppage.
The Lazy RNC: Kelly used a face crank to force Hamel to submit, not needing to get his forearm under the chin. His is the third to occur in PFL history, and the first after the opening frame concluded.
Alternate’s Alternate: Possibly claiming an alternate spot, Ilara Joanne picked up a win by decision over Saray Orozco. The defeated woman from Mexico has now engaged in 15 pro fights, and she has heard the final bell in 11 of them.
Never Say Never Again: Coming into PFL 2025 6, Dana (eight fights) and Khamidov (16 fights) had never been defeated, Cenci had never landed a triangle choke (seven chokes) and Caruso had never been finished (12 fights).
